On Jully 16th, 2009, SCFD was dispatched to a industrial fire, en-route, Engine 3 was involved in a MVA. The Driver of the vehicle that struck the engine, was killed. Mutual aid from Brickland Park Volunteer Fire Department was toned, and handled the extrication of the firefighters.
Dumpster Fire 9/20/09
On September 20th, 2009, SCFD was alerted of a large ammount of smoke fire near the city's golf range. A dumpster was marked as "Hazardous Materials" and was fully engulfed. Rescue 1 was dispatched as a precaution, and found no dangerous materials.
Lumber Yard Fire 12/1/10
On December 1st, 2010, SCFD responded to a lumber yard fire. Two workers where confirmed DOA, and three more where transported in critical condition. Mutual aid from White Ridge was dispatched, and worked on scene.
Building collapse Causes MVA 9/9/2011
On September 9th, 2011, SCFD was dispatched to falling debris from a structure. A car, driving down the road, crashed in to a steal beam that had fallen, and caught fire. Driver was transported in critical condition to the hospital, where she died four days later.
On January 12th, 2012, SCFD was en-route to a MVA, when Engine 3 was struck by Legolia County Medic 11. The engine was hit on the officers side, and the officer injured his right arm.
Vehicle fire 1/13/12
On January 13th, 2012, SCFD was dispatched to a vehicle fire. A camper, being pulled down Richfield Ave. was fully engulfed. No one was injured, and crews cleared shortly after.
Vehicle fire with HAZMAT 4/29/12
On April 29th, 2012, SCFD was dispatched to a vehicle fire. Engine 1 arrived on scene, and was informed the truck was carrying ammonia to a local bottling plant. Engine 5 was dispatched and handled the spill. No injuries where reported.
On May 3rd, 2012, SCFD was dispatched of a MVA involving a sanitation truck and yellow sedan. Driver of the car was transported to the hospital with a minor concussion and a broken wrist.
Water Rescue 8/23/2012
On August 23rd, 2012, SCFD was dispatched to a report of a mountain biker washed of trail during a rain storm. He was found near a small bank, close to lake Embrick. Dive 1's crew entered the water, and brought his to shore, where he was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
